Resume.AI ("we", "us") helps you build and tailor resumes using AI. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. We keep things minimal and we don't sell your data — ever.

What we collect

Resume content you enter — name, contact details, work history, education, and skills. This is used only to generate and improve your resume and cover letter.
Uploaded files — if you import an existing resume, we send it to our AI provider to extract the text, then populate your fields. We do not permanently store the uploaded file.
Account signals — a randomly generated ID, browser characteristics, and a hashed version of your email/phone. These are used to track free credit usage and prevent abuse. We store a one-way hash, not your raw email or phone, for credit tracking.
Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

How we use it

To generate, tailor, and edit your resume and cover letter.
To track free credits and process payments.
To prevent fraud and abuse of the free tier.

Third parties

We use Anthropic (Claude) to power the AI features and Stripe to process payments. Your resume text is sent to Anthropic to generate content. We don't share your data with anyone else.

Data retention

Resume content you type stays in your browser. Account and payment records are kept as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. You can request deletion of your data anytime by emailing us.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete it. Just email us at the address below.

The service

Resume.AI provides AI-assisted resume and cover letter tools. Free users receive a limited number of AI generations. A one-time payment unlocks unlimited generations and downloads for 30 days.

Honest use

Our AI is designed to reframe and strengthen your real experience — not to fabricate it. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your resume. Do not use the service to create misleading or false credentials.

Payments & refunds

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. The $5 unlock grants 30 days of full access. If something isn't working or you're not satisfied, email us within 7 days and we'll make it right.

Acceptable use

Don't abuse, overload, or attempt to bypass the credit system.
Don't use the service for unlawful purposes.
Don't attempt to resell or redistribute access.
